Woodsville, NH – David Leslie Drew August 11, 1971 – September 6, 2026. David was born at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH to Richard H. and Delores (Fillian) Drew. He shared his day of birth, August 11, with his grandfather, David Fillian of Orford.

David grew up in Lyme and enjoyed the great outdoors. He attended the Lyme School System and graduated from Orford High School.

He was very good at helping his grandmother, Irene Drew, who lived next door. Family parties were special times. Lots of cousins, food and music. He and Gram liked to dance

David was a “big help” to Grant and Margaret Balch at the farm next door. When he was young, he helped to bottle feed the calves. Later he helped with the haying.

He and friend, Brent Stearns, loved playing in the fields and woods, climbing trees in the summer, and sliding in the winter. He loved fishing in the brooks and the river. His favorite fishing was ice fishing. As a High School graduation gift, he flew to San Diego to visit his Uncle Joe Fillian. Joe took him deep sea fishing. A real treat. They also shared a love of NASCAR, and they shared Dale Earnhardt as their favorite driver.

He had many jobs over the years. His very favorites were those that included landscaping and gardening. For several years he ran a greenhouse behind Gram’s house. He grew and sold veggies to some of the local stores. And supplied family and friends with them also. Living at the Woodsville Opera Block he again was able to enjoy some of his passion for landscaping.

David was predeceased by his grandparents: Leslie and Irene (Blake) Drew, David and Hattie (Shortt) Fillian and his great grandparents Alphonse and Jesse (Woods) Fillian. Uncles Bill (Marilyn Toner) Drew, Chris (Emily) Orf, Joe Fillian; aunts, Dorothy Drew (Howard Southworth and Sonny Stearns), Barbara Drew (Charles Blanchard). Along with many family and friends. One of his hardest losses was his special little cat Izzy.

David is survived by his parents Richard and Delores Drew; his bother Dick; his special friend Pam in Franklin with their cat Buddy; his Aunt Carol (Drew) and Uncle Bill Phelps, his Aunt Emily Orf; along with many cousins, friends and acquaintances.

A graveside service will be held on October 10th at 2:00 at the Highland Cemetery in Lyme, NH.
