Bath, NH- David Ricker Lang, Jr., 83, of Rum Hill Road, died on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill, NH. David was born in Boston, MA, on July 10, 1927. He grew up in Monroe, NH, with his parents, David and Ruth (Nelson) Lang. He was a graduate of McIndoe Falls Academy, Class of 1946. On April 25, 1947, he married Phyllis Mae Griggs. David worked for Nesbitt Soda Company in Barre, VT and for the Town of Bath as a member of the road crew. He also worked as a Corrections Officer and Supervisor at the Grafton County Jail until his retirement. Together with Phyllis, he spent several years traveling through New England with their camper. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising his four sons. Over the years, David volunteered many hours with the Woodsville Ambulance. David was predeceased by a son, Tracy D. Lang on August 19, 1977, a grandson Tracy K. Lang on May 6, 2009, and by a foster daughter, Beatrice Crown in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis M. Lang of Bath; three sons, Carlton D. Lang of Woodsville, NH, Bryan K. Lang and wife Cindy of Bath, and Kevin J. Lang and wife Christina of Bow, NH; five grandchildren, Robin Avery and husband Jeff, Sara J. Lang, James K. Lang and wife Carrie, Adam R. Lang, and Michael K. Lang and wife Kristen, and two great grandsons, Ezra and Luke Avery. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at the North Monroe Cemetery.
