North Haverhill, NH – David Jerry Locke, Sr. 79, passed away after a period of declining health on March 20, 2019 at the Encompass Health Rehabilitation, Stuart, Florida.

David was born at the Locke Farm in Bath, NH, on September 23, 1939, the son of Tony Frederick and Delia Josephine (Prue) Boudreault Locke.

Dave went to the one room Carbee School and graduated with the class of 1953.  He went on to graduate from the Woodsville High School, class of 1957.  After school, he worked on the family farm and also for Boudreault Plumbing in North Haverhill.  Dave served with National Guard Armory from 1959 to 1965 with the 197th Field Artillery Battery C in Woodsville.

Dave married Patricia Richie on September 19, 1976.

He was a self employed building contractor starting his business in 1962 and he combined it with Locke Excavation in 1969.  In 1973, he concentrated on the excavation business and sold the business in 1996. David continued to design state approved septic systems and working with his wife Patricia with Common Ground.  He also dabbled in buying and selling real estate, construction equipment, and also operated a self storage business.  Dave officially retired in 2007 and he and Pat spent winters in Florida and summers in North Haverhill and Lyman, NH.  He loved riding snowmobiles and his Harley Davidson.

Dave was a member of the Ross-Wood Post #20 American Legion and the Legion Riders Motorcycle Club of Post #20 both of Woodsville.

He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Patricia Locke on December 27, 2013; two sisters, Lorraine Breault and Eleanor Grimes; four brothers, Russell Locke, Amos Locke, Galand Locke, and Patrick Boudreault.

Survivors include his five children with his first wife Ruth Ranno, David J. Locke, Jr. and companion Ginny Macomber, Wanda B. Larrivee and husband Marc, Kathy J. Locke, Shannon J. Clough and husband James, Lisa A. Simonds and husband Bruce; three step children, Lillian "Annie" Crowley and companion Abass Kallan, William "Jay" J. Crowley III, and Timothy P. Crowley; sixteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five sisters, Marguerite Currier and husband Winston, June Lamond, Celia Chouinard, Jeannette Mennaguzzi, and Adele Patch: a brother, Joseph Locke and wife Janese; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, May 11, at 2PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH with Rev. George Hemway from the Trinity Church of Nazarene, North Haverhill, officiating.

Burial will follow at the Center Haverhill Cemetery.

There will be a reception after the burial at the American Legion Home, 4 Ammonoosuc Street, Woodsville.
