North Haverhill, NH- Dennis William Smith, 74, passed away at the Grafton County Nursing Home on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Dennis was born on February 9, 1950, to William J. Smith Jr and Rita (Greenwood) Bixby in Haverhill, NH.

In his younger years he owned and operated his own business, Dennis's Mowing and Landscaping out of Warren, NH.

He was a member of the Warren Fire Department from 1985 to 1999 then he moved to the Haverhill area and joined the Bath Fire Department in the year 2000. While living with his brother Danny Bixby, Dennis had fallen down the stairs and sustained injuries to his neck and spine. Prior to his injuries he was very active and enjoyed snowmobiling, snowshoeing and watching his brother-in-law race at White Mountain and going to Bear Ridge. Despite living in New England his whole life, he hated skiing.

In the New England summer's, he enjoyed fishing behind the Bath Covered bridge, and he would love catching everything but sticks. He always had fun while hanging out with his cousins Craig Jewett and Cecil Smith.

He is predeceased by his father, William Smith; His mother, Rita Bixby; and sister, Debra Keith.

He is survived by his brother, Dale Smith and Daniel Bixby; sister, Donna Hubbard, a brother-in-law, Tom Keith; and special cousin, Carol Smith.

There will be a graveside service held on Wednesday, June 12th at 1 PM at the Center Haverhill Cemetery.
