North Haverhill, NH Donald Smith Adams, Sr, 90, died on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. He was born in Danbury, CT, March 12, 1923, a son of Lester and Flossie Mae (Wright) Adams, Sr. Donald married Marion Arlene Ruscoe on July 15, 1950. He worked for Bard Parker in Danbury, CT for 37 years, as a surgical blade shapener. Donald and Marion moved to North Haverhill in 1978 from Danbury. He then went to work at the Grafton County Nursing Home in the maintenance department. Donald was an avid sportman enjoying hunting and fishing. He also was an avid New York Yankees fan. Donald was a founding member of the Candlewood Sportmens Club on Brushwood Road in Pike, NH. He had been an active member in the Eagles Club in Danbury. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Marion Arlene (Ruscoe) Adams on May 27, 1993; a sister, Dorothy Boothroyd; and a brother, Lester Adams, Jr. Survivors include four sons, Richard Adams and wife Joyce of Eastham, MA, Donald S. Smitty Adams, Jr. and wife Holly of Danbury, CT, Robert Adams and longtime friend Tommy of Danbury, CT, and Kenneth Adams and wife Annette of Alpharetta, GA; five granddaughters; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In following Donald s wishes there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one s choice.
