Donald G.
Hisey
December 6, 2017
Corinth, VT – Donald G. Hisey was born in 1929 in Ohio to parents Annie Mae Wade and Glenn Hisey. When he reached 11 years, his father died; after high school graduation, he attended George Washington University and graduated from Baltimore School of Commerce.
He worked 15 years for Ernst & Ernst, the international accounting firm. Then from 1971 to 1980 he served as Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer of Parsons & Whittemore, a multi-national pulp and paper company.
October 10, 1976, he married Julia F. Hisey. They lived in New York City and traveled in France, Mexico, Brazil, the Amazon, the Canadian Rockies, and the Presidential Mountains on business and vacation trips until 1980 when they bought the Swiss Chalets Motel in North Conway, NH. In 1987 they sold the motel and built a small cedar house on 36 acres in Corinth, Vermont where they retired.
In Corinth, Don served as Town Auditor, Chairman on Board of Directors of Waits River Valley School, and Vice President of the Orange East Supervisory Union Board. From 1993 to 2003 he was as Assistant Judge of Orange County, Vermont.
He is survived by his wife, Julia; his son, Scott, and daughter, Linda, in Baltimore, MD.; and sister, Alice Simms in Marysville, Ohio.
He was kind, generous, brilliant, and considerate and will be greatly missed.
Donald's cremated remains will be buried in the Corinth Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dartmouth Hitchcock Annual Fund, Lebanon, NH 03756.
