Donald M. Leete, 72, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, June 28, 2026. He was born in Woodsville, NH, on April 14, 1954, to Duncan and Sarah (Knight) Leete, and grew up on the family farm in Newbury. He graduated from Oxbow High School in 1973. On October 25, 1974, he married Cynthia "Dee Dee" Brightly on the family farm in Newbury.
Donald was a self-employed logger for most of his life and loved working in the woods. He enjoyed trips to Maine, spending time at the family camp at Halls Pond, and was an excellent water skier. He also liked watching Westerns on TV Land, eating a good bacon and eggs breakfast, and the company of his dog, Jenna.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia "Dee Dee" Leete; two children, Drew Leete and Jessica Tuttle, both of Newbury; and three grandchildren, Logan Tuttle, Ethan Tuttle, and Alizabeth Leete-MacGregor. He is also survived by a brother, Alan Leete, and his wife Nancy of Newbury; two sisters, Brenda Highland and her husband Jack of Newbury, and Carol Norcross of North Haverhill, NH; special aunt Ruth Page; brother-in-law Mathias Brightly; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, son-in-law Peter Tuttle; sister-in-law Tammy Hardin; and brothers-in-law David Brightly, Randy Brightly, and Larry Norcross; a nephew, Ezra Hardin.
Donald will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the friendships he built throughout his life, and the memories he created with those who knew him. His kindness, strength, and presence will be greatly missed but forever remembered by all who loved him.
A celebration of Donald's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
