Donna
West
January 2, 2025
Donna E. West, 88, of Newbury, VT passed away peacefully at Valley View in Bradford, VT on January 2, 2025. She was born on May, 4, 1936 in Springfield, MA the daughter of Richard W. Yeomans Sr and Lillian C. (Urch) Yeomans.
In Donna's early years, in East Longmeadow, MA she worked at a nursing home, bakery and was an Avon lady for ten years. Donna was also the Vice President of East Longmeadow Jaycettes. While in Newbury she worked at the Frances Atkinson Residence for many years. She was often heard asking the residents if they had their hug for the day, which is something she truly enjoyed.
Donna had many artistic talents. She was an avid gardener and painter. She was well known for her green thumb when it came to flowers and vegetables. Her little greenhouse was always full to over flowing, which led to selling the over flow locally. People would come from all over for her annual Memorial Day yard sale. She entered many of her flower arrangements, quilting and painted items at the North Haverhill Fair. Bringing home many awards for her talent yearly. She enjoyed volunteering her time there as well.
Donna is survived by five of her six children, Carol Gorman (John) of Cheyenne, WY, David Foucher (Karen) of Hampden, MA, Brenda Bacon (Charles) of East Longmeadow, MA, Diane Moore (James) of Hinesburg, VT, Sandra Wassell (Philip) of Bath, NH; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Tyburski, of Beverly, MA, JoAnn McSweeney, of Springfield, MA, and Debra Dominguez, of East Hampden, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond E. West; her son Steven W. Foucher; three sisters, Barbara Bogdinoff, Florence Chubb and Gloria Morneau and two brothers, Richard Yeomans Jr and Gardner Yeomans.
She will be remembered by many as the bright spot in their day. She loved to sing and dance! Bringing a smile to all!
There will be no calling hours.
A private family burial will be held in the spring.
Donations in Donna's memory can be made to the Newbury Food Shelf, PO Box 170, Newbury, VT or to a charity of your choice.
