Monroe, NH- Doris H. Bedell, 90, of Plain Road, died unexpectedly at the Lafayette Center in Franconia, NH on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Doris was born in Monroe on April 21, 1924, to Earl and Inez (Fisher) Hunt. She was a graduate of McIndoe Falls Academy, McIndoe Falls, VT. On May 20, 1949, she married Harland E. Bedell. Doris was active in all aspects of the Monroe Community Church in Monroe and North Monroe, serving as the organist and pianist for over forty years, as well as being active in the Women s Club. She was also a member of the Monroe Grange. Along with Harland, she loved fishing on Harvey s Lake. In her spare time, she was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed knitting. She was predeceased by her husband, Harland E. Bedell on May 19, 1991 and by a son, Thomas E. Bedell on April 29, 2008. She is survived by a son Gerald W. Bedell and wife Nancy of Monroe; a daughter in law, Marilyn Bedell of Monroe; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and several cousins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 29, at 11 AM at the Monroe Village Cemetery in Monroe, with Rev. Earl Brock, officiating.
