Obituary

Dorothy "Dot" E. Adrien, 100, Newbury, VT, passed away at her home in Newbury on Monday, March 3, 2025, with family at her side.  Born on July 7, 1924, at 1 Deer Park, Lynn, MA, much of her adolescence was spent in Lynn.

Dot graduated from Classical High School in 1942 and started working for the Lynn Institution for Savings.  Dot married the man who always made her laugh, Joseph Adrien, in 1946.  In 1971 Dot left the Lynn Institution for Savings and she and Joe moved to Vermont.  Together they managed Aubuchon's Hardware in Bradford until they retired in 1986.  Dot always referred to Vermont as "Heaven on Earth".  When Joe passed away in 1997, they had been married for 51 fun-filled years.

Dot moved to Spear House Apartments in Wells River, VT in 2000.  It was there that she made several new friends and enjoyed afternoon skip-bo games with her neighbors.  Early weekday mornings she would eat breakfast with her "adopted sons", a great group of people whose company she enjoyed.  In 2020 Dot moved back to the home that Joe and her son Dean built in Newbury.  She lived the remainder of her days with her daughter and son-in-law.  Friendship and family meant everything to Dot, and many came to surround her with love and peace in her final moments.

Dot leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren; eleven adored great-grandchildren; 16 adored great-great-grandchildren; several fondly remembered nephews and nieces; her daughter Lee Adrien-Joslyn of Newbury, VT; son Dean Adrien and daughter-in-law Cathie (Vient) Adrien.  She is predeceased by her parents, Tillman B. Landers and Cora (Hichens) Landers; two sisters, Ruth (Landers) Adrien and Lois (Landers) Thomson; son-in-law Alfred R. Joslyn Jr.; brothers-in-law Omer Adrien and Jack Thomson.

Special thanks to the hospice team from VNH who provided excellent Care to Dot in her final weeks.  In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Second Chance Animal Rescue, 1517 Meadow St., Littleton, NH 03561.  There are no services planned.
