North Haverhill, NH—Dorothy Louise (Williams) Davidson, 94, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her home where she resided since 1958. She was born in Lyman, NH to Carl Lee Williams and Ethel Mae (Gravett) Williams on July 20, 1930. She graduated in 1948 from McIndoe Falls Academy. She married James Mills Davidson on December 6, 1951. Dottie worked at First National Stores in North Haverhill prior to the birth of their first child and then stayed at home raising four children. After her children were grown up, she worked part-time for a few years at Country Gas in Haverhill, NH, and Joanie's Sweater Outlet in Woodsville, NH.
Dottie was a member of the Wells River Congregational Church. She taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Women's Fellowship where she helped with bake sales and fall fair fundraisers. She was a member of the Woodsville Bowling League for a little over fifty years where she made several friends, a few of whom have kept in touch right up until her death.
Dottie is predeceased by her parents, Carl in 1973 and Ethel in 2001; husband, Jim in 1995; sisters Hazel (Kendall) Pearl in 2014 and brothers-in-law Ernest Kendall in 1970 and Russell Pearl in 2021, and Sylvia "PeeWee" Patten in 2020 and brother-in-law Parke "Jim" Patten in 1989; and a brother Richard Williams in 2019. She is survived by two daughters Barbara Marshall and husband Michael of Haverhill, NH, and Deborah Davidson of North Haverhill, NH; two sons, Michael Davidson and wife Jessie of Barnet, VT; and James Davidson of Marco Island, FL; her grandchildren Andrew Davidson and wife Michelle of Barnet, VT, Riley Rutchick and husband Matthew of Barnet, VT, Elizabeth Marshall and husband Nicholas Balch of North Haverhill, NH, and Joseph Marshall and wife Torie of Newbury, VT; and her great-grandchildren Devin Davidson, Ethan Davidson, and Brooklyn Rutchick, all of Barnet, and Jane Marshall of Newbury. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Grace Williams of Orange, MA, several nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
Per Dottie's request, there will be no calling hours. A private graveside committal will be held at the convenience of the family.
