Duane H. Perry, 94, Wells River, VT, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at his home.  He was born on October 16, 1929, at Mt. Ararat Farm, Port Deposit, MD, a port on the Susquehanna River, to Ellery W. and Evelyn (Sargent) Perry.

He lived in Maryland until 1940 when his family moved to Randolph Center, VT.   In 1949, they moved to Wells River, VT where he met and married Patricia Ledger in 1954, and to them were born four sons.

Duane worked for Bath Fibre for many years and various area farms part-time.  He and the boys also ran a farm in the Champlain Valley, after which he worked for Everal and Cindy Larkham and Copeland Furniture.  He then started Perry's Small Engine in 1980, which he operated until he became ill and could no longer work in 2017.

Duane is predeceased by his sons Duane B. Perry and Sherman B Perry; his grandson, Daniel Sherman Perry; and three brothers, Robert, Paul, and Melvin Perry.  He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia Perry; two sons, Philip A. Perry and Daren L. Perry and wife Brenda; a daughter-in-law, Diana; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren

There will be no Calling Hours.  Burial will be in the spring in the Oxbow Cemetery.
