Obituary

Bath, NH- Edward Arthur Coulstring, Sr., 88 of Railroad Street, died on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Edward was born on October 7 th , 1932, in Braintree, MA to Alexander M. and Muriel (Nelson) Coulstring.

He spent his childhood between Rockland, MA and Nova Scotia, Canada. He played football for Rockland High School before playing semi-professional football.

Over the years, Edward worked for Local  #669 as a sprinkler fitter as well as being a welder, a carpenter, a mason, and a boilermaker in Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, MA.

In his free time he coached youth football.  He enjoyed horseback riding, camping, hunting, and playing his guitar.  He loved boating on My Seven Ladies , spending time on the ocean and Lake Champlain, and eating seafood.  Ed was an awesome cook and took pride on keeping up his property.  He loved animals including his two dogs, Diggity and Gunther, and his horse Dumas. He was an avid Patriot and Red Sox fan.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Coulstring on July 8, 2011; six brothers, Robert Coulstring, Alec Coulstring, Francis Coulstring, Gerald Coulstring, Gilbert Coulstring,and Carl Coulstring; a sister, Virgina Coulstring; and his first wife, Eva Louise (Menchin) Coulstring on August 11, 1994.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Coulstring; sons Charles Coulstring and partner Brenda Smith of Benton, NH; Edward Coulstring of Bethlehem, NH; daughters, Sheryl McDonough of Hanson, MA, Janice Wright of Plymouth, MA, Ginny Dennett of Bath, NH, and Laurel Curtis and husband Doug of Dover, NH; two brothers, Donald Coulstring of Holbrook, MA and John Coulstring and wife Judy of Bridgewater, MA; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; four step-sons, Rick McKean and wife Debra of Piermont, NH; Shawn McKean and wife Debra of Benton, NH; Troy McKean and wife Alta of Pike, NH; Jason McKean and partner Pam Kenny of Pike, NH; 6 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be no calling hours.

A private graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Lyn Winter.

A public celebration of life will be announced.

Masks and social distancing are required for attendance at Edward's services.
