Danville, VT Edward Roland Kimball, 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehabilitation Center, St. Johnsbury, VT, with his family by his side. He was born in Corinth, VT, April 1, 1933, the son of Charles W. and Cecil (Livingston) Kimball. Edward graduated from Bradford Academy, Bradford, VT on June 11, 1951. After graduation he worked and ran the family farm in Corinth, VT. The family relocated to Danville where they purchased another family farm. Later in life he worked for Goss Tire in St. Johnsbury, VT for many years. He then purchased Danville Service Center with his co-partner Arnold Foster. Edward retired at the age of 62. To keep busy after retirement, he worked for Calkins Portable Toilets in Danville for 12 years and did snow plowing during the winter months. Edward was an automotive enthusiast, especially cars. He loved bird watching, camping, and the Autumn season. He also had a passion for candy and chocolate. He will be remembered for his devotion to his mother, his devilish grin and sense of humor, his generosity, and the pride he took in his home and yard, and for keeping his vehicles clean . His greatest joy in life was spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edward married Norma (Rock) Wright on May 25, 1979. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles W. and Cecil (Livingston) Kimball; a daughter, Penny Kimball in June of 1965; two childhood brothers, Fred Kimball in 1924 and Berton Kimball in 1926; and his children s mother, June E. Wood. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Norma Kimball of Danville; his three daughters, Deborah Kimball of Danville, Laurie Kimball of Barnet Center, VT, and Valerie Friend and her husband Randy of Danville; two sons, Gary Kimball of Concord, VT and Stuart Kimball and his wife Pamela of South Peacham, VT; two step daughters, Carrie Ann Nunn and husband Aundre of North Concord, VT and Cherylee Chamul and husband Edwin of East Concord, VT; two step sons, Michael Wright and his wife Amie of Cabot, VT and Christopher Wright and his wife Heather of Rochester, NH; 27 grandchildren, Calvin, Laura, Hannah, Steven, Randy Scott, Tonya, Ryan, Jeanna, Josslyn, Jonathan, Josiah, Jahla, Jason, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Jessica, Cady, Delani, Peydon, Dylan, Jeremy, Jordan, Madyson, Edwin, Sarafina, Cecilia, and Tito; 13 great grandchildren, Jovine, Faith, Jade, Calvin II, Seth, Jasai, Halie, Elizabeth, Matthew, Alyssa, Zaccari, Aniyah, and Brooke; a sister, Dorothy Dodge of Corinth, VT; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, October 4, from 6 to 8 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 5, at 11 AM at the Ricker Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Danville Green Cemetery, Danville, VT.
