Danville, VT-  Edward Robert "Tim" Somers, 88, of Brainerd Street, died at his home on Sunday, October 21, 2018.

Tim was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on September 16, 1930, to Edward A. and Belle (Parker) Somers.  He was a graduate of Peacham Academy, Class of 1948.  Following a stint in the Vermont National Guard, he served for four years in the US Air Force.

Tim drove for St. Johnsbury Trucking for 37 years.

He was a member of the Washburn Masonic Lodge # 92 of Danville and retired as a member of Teamster Local # 597.  Tim was most interested in farming, sugaring, doing mechanical work, and driving truck.  For 19 years, he wound the town clock in Danville.

Tim is survived by his wife, Anna B. (Somers) Somers, to whom he was married on June 23, 1952.  He is also survived by a daughter, Linda J. Tasker of Henniker, NH; a son, Scott E. Somers and wife Wendy M. of Danville; four grandchildren, Eliza K. Tasker- Smith and husband Jerry Smith of Concord, NH, Emma J. Tasker of Henniker, Brandon S. Somers and Cameron L. Somers both of Danville; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor M. Steele Laakso.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be on Friday, October 26th at 1:30 PM, in the Danville Green Cemetery with Rev. Douglas Carter of the Danville Congregational Church, officiating.  Following the graveside service, all are invited to return to the Danville Congregational Church on Hill Street, for a gathering of light refreshments.
