Woodsville, NH Emaline Mary McFarland, 88, died December 21, 2011 at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, following a period of failing health. She was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, April 30, 1923, a daughter of Ernest and Mabel Stearns. For many years prior to her retirement she worked for the Burndy Corp. in their Littleton and North Haverhill facilities. Emaline enjoyed traveling, especially to Maine, camping, fishing, and walking. She was predeceased by her husband James McFarland. Emaline was one of 17 children and is survived by her brother Charles Stearns of St. Johnsbury, and her very dear friend Mary Hesseltine of North Haverhill, and her daughter Linda Speer of Ryegate, VT, along with several nieces and nephews. Memorial calling hours will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, from 1-3 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. .
