Benton, NH- Eric F. Davis, 88, died on Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Glencliff Home. Mr. Davis was born on November 14, 1919, in Piermont, NH, to Floyd F. and Ida May (Moulton) Davis. He was raised on a farm on River Road in Piermont. He served from December 1941 through September 1945 in the US Marine Corps, during World War II. He served in Guadalcanal, New Britain, Palau. Eric was the recipient of the Purple Heart, and Sharp Shooters Medal. Eric married Fannie Mae Walter on December 20, 1947. Mr. Davis worked as a real estate agent and opened Davis Real Estate and Blackmount Realty in North Haverhill, NH. He was a member of the Real Estate Association of NH, VFW Post # 5245 of North Haverhill, NH, the Bradford Country Club, Bradford, VT and the Heather Country Club in Florida. Prior to entering the Real Estate Field, he had spent time farming, logging and running his own sawmill. Eric loved working and spending time in the outdoors. He had formerly attended the Piermont Congregational Church. Mr. Davis was predeceased by a son, Daniel Eric Davis on Aug. 22, 1992 and a brother, Ellis Davis. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Fannie Mae Davis of Woodsville; a daughter, Vickie Davis of Wilder, VT; three sons, Stanley Davis of Newbury, VT, Kurt Davis of North Haverhill, and Jeffrey Davis of North Haverhill; 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; 2 great grandsons; two sisters, Eleanor Rose Trevithick of Woodsville and Irene May Holoway of Piermont; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 19 at 11 AM, at the Woodsville United Methodist Church, 11 Maple Street, Woodsville, NH with Pastor Vadia Boudreau officiating. Burial will be later in the spring in Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, NH.
