Obituary

Monroe, NH Esther Pearl Thomas, 78, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. She was born in Greensboro, VT, November 2, 1931, the daughter of Reuben and Elva M. (Gochie) Richardson. Esther was a graduate of Lyndon Institute, Class of 1949. Esther married Louis Thomas, Jr. on June 16, 1951. She worked at HP Hood and Sons and Hovey s Shop. Esther enjoyed needlework, playing cards with friends and cheering her family along at the race track. Her family and friends enjoyed time with her at Harvey s Lake, making pickles and frequent family gatherings. She traveled to Florida for the winter over the last decade and enjoyed time spent golfing, playing bingo, and eating out with her many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Reuben and Elva Richardson; and her husband of 55 years, Louis Thomas, Jr. on March 15, 2007. Survivors include a daughter, Lynn Bixby and husband Chris of Monroe, NH; a son, Larry Thomas and wife Cathy of Monroe; five grandchildren, Amy Thomas and friend Jeff Locher of Lebanon, NH, Seth Thomas and friend Sara Lawrence of Seattle, WA, Todd Thomas of Boston, MA, Karen Remick and husband Oren of Warner, NH, and Sarah Bixby and friend Todd Aldrich of Lyman, NH; a great granddaughter, Molly Pearl Remick of Warner, NH; and a brother, Everette Richardson and wife Shirley of Orleans, VT. Calling hours will be on Sunday, April 25, from 2 to 4 PM at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A graveside service at the Lyndon Village Cemetery will be held at a later date with times to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caledonia County Relay for Life, Team Footprints of Hope, Cottage Hospital, c/o Connie Jones, P.O.
