Warren, NH – Eudora (Wetherbee) Hibbard, 91, of Warren, NH, died suddenly on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
Eudora was born in Warren, NH, September 8, 1931, one of five children to the late Walter Hue Wetherbee and Lois (Merrill) Wetherbee.
After attending elementary school in Warren village, she rode the train to Woodsville High School until she graduated in 1949.
Eudora married Lloyd "Bus" Hibbard on April 17, 1954, and they enjoyed many years together until his death in 1986.
Eudora began work as a clerk in the Warren Post Office in 1955 and was promoted to Postmaster in 1979. She retired in 1986 with 31 years of service.
She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, United Postmasters and Managers of America, the Warren United Methodist Church, Pythian Sisters, Warren Historical Society, and volunteered in numerous committees and organizations.
Eudora loved working in her garden, knitting, bird watching, working on puzzles, cooking and baking for family and her community as well as traveling to various postal conventions across the United States.
Eudora is predeceased by her daughter, Elaine (Hibbard) Maltais. Surviving family members include her son, Lawrence Hibbard and wife Karen of Orford, NH, one sister, Melissa Libby, two brothers, Bernard Wetherbee and wife Sally, and Hue Wetherbee along with six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours for Eudora at the Ricker Funeral Home and Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St. Woodsville, NH, on Friday January 6, 2023, from 5-7PM. A funeral service officiated by Rev. Lyn Winter will be on Saturday January 7, 2023 at 11AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at South Lawn Cemetery in Piermont, NH on Friday May 19, 2023 at 1PM.
