Newbury, VT-  Evelyn Patkoske Real, died on Friday, April 8, 2016, at her home on Scotch Hollow Road with her husband, Lloyd by her side.

Evelyn was born in Meriden, CT, the daughter of William Patkoske and Helen (Ficken) Patkoske Carlson. She graduated from Meriden High School, Meriden, CT and went on to Laurel Business School also in Meriden. Evelyn married Lloyd Real on May 14, 1949.

Evelyn was a member of the Newbury Congregational Church for over 45 years. She volunteered at the Mustard Seed Shop and served on many committees at the church. Evelyn helped out for many years at the Newbury Cracker Barrel Bazaar. She enjoyed being on the Sunshine Bowling League and served as team captain. Evelyn and Lloyd enjoyed Western Square Dancing for more than 20 years. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, and her little dogs and cats. Evelyn and Lloyd traveled to England and visited almost all 50 states. In her younger days she belonged to Turner Athletics, doing gymnastics and rings. In high school she played with the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp and traveled to many area events.

She was predeceased by her sister, Helen (Patkoske) Bober.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lloyd Real of Newbury, VT; her children, Bill Real and wife Lori of Henniker, NH, Pam Fournier and husband Dana of Bourne, MA, and Marcia Newcomb and husband Jim of North Haverhill, NH; two grandchildren, Matthew Real and wife Jackie of Manchester, NH, and Alisha Real and Joe Brown of Bristol, RI; three nephews, David Bober and wife Meg, Robert Bober, and Ken Bober and Greg Ebner.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday, April 12, from 11 to 1 at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH, with a service of celebration to begin at 1 PM with Rev. Kathryn Maver from the Newbury Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Townhouse Cemetery, Newbury. A reception will follow at the Newbury Congregational Church Vestry.
