Ryegate Corner, VT Florence (Randall) Kinerson, 86, of Witherspoon Road, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at her home. She was born in Norwich, CT on November 21, 1924 to George Leon and Florence (Holloway) Randall. Florence graduated from the University of Connecticut and then began her teaching career in Peacham, VT. While teaching in Peacham she met, fell in love with, and married James Richardson Kinerson and they bought a dairy farm in Ryegate. In the early 60 s Florence taught at the One-Room Schoolhouse in Ryegate Corner and after its closing she continued teaching in the Ryegate and Bradford schools for many years. She enjoyed teaching 5th grade but teaching science, phys ed, and coaching girls basketball were her passion. She enjoyed going to the basketball games at BMU and enjoyed watching the UConn girls basketball games on TV. Florence was a member of the Ryegate Corner Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain Grange, and Gideons International. Three of her grandchildren, Mary, Hannah and Charles had the honor of being her caregivers when she needed constant care at home. Florence loved playing chicken dominoes, she enjoyed having her Bible and devotional read to her, she was soothed by violin music played to her by her son-in-law, and she was thrilled to be able to talk to/see several of her grandchildren and meet her newest great-granddaughter, Ariella, who was born October 6th in Japan, via Skype. Florence was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Jim; her brothers David Randall, George Randall, and Paul Randall; her brothers-in-laws Russell Kinerson, Cliff Kinerson, Jim Quimby, and Bill Kinerson; and her sisters-in-laws Dolly Randall and Louise Kinerson. Survivors include a daughter, Ginny Gray Achilles and husband Wayne of Burnt Fort, GA; a son, Jack E. Kinerson of Ryegate Corner, VT; eleven grandchildren Heidi (Wayne) Butler, Jonathan Steele, Christopher Steele, Ruthanne (Hiro) Hogaki, Betsy Steele, Hannah Steele, MaryEllen Steele, Patience Steele, Charles Steele, Philip James Steele, and Richard Gray; three great-grandchildren Coleman and Katie Butler and Ariella Hogaki; four step-grandchildren Kristy (Johnny) Aseltine, Andy Achilles, Jenny (Renzo) Chumbes, and Danielle Achilles; her sister, Marion Fields (David) of Lebanon, CT; her brother, Jonathan Randall (Charlotte) of Titusville, PA; her sisters-in-law, Louise Randall of Putnam, CT, Teddy Randall of Lebanon, CT, Irene Kinerson of Barnet, VT, and MaryJo Quimby of Cleveland,TN; her brother-in-law David Kinerson (Shelia) of Orlando, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Florence s life will be on Sunday, December 4, at 2 PM at the Ryegate Corner Presbyterian Church.
