Floyd Richard Cawley, of Woodsville, NH, formerly of Lincoln, NH, passed away on March 2 nd , 2022, after battling a lengthy illness.
He was born on December 30, 1956, to Frank R. Cawley and Joyce Wiggett Cawley at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, NH.
Floyd attended Lin-Wood High School in Lincoln, NH and was valedictorian for his graduating class of 1977.
For twenty years Floyd was the executive chef of a popular restaurant in North Woodstock, NH. He then took a position with the Littleton Transfer Station in Littleton, NH. There, he became great friends with people he worked with. He enjoyed meeting new faces and helping folks out.
Floyd wed his partner and sweetheart of fifteen years, Susan Oakes Cawley on September 16, 2021, at Lisbon Bible Church, where they have attended services and been a part of the church for the past eighteen months.
As a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post # 83 in Lincoln, NH, he gave generously of his time to help with charitable fund raisers.
Each summer Floyd looked forward too, with great anticipation to camping in Maine near the ocean. He loved exploring the beaches and visiting with family and friends around the campfire at night. He had a passion in collecting old bottles, boy scout memorabilia, vintage license plates, going to flea markets, yard sailing, and taking drives along the back roads of new England.
Floyd is survived by his siblings, Robert Cawley, Frank Cawley and Jodie Cawley; his son, Benjamin Cawley and his stepchildren, Janelle Boren, Jon Boren, Meriel Boren and Elizabeth Boren.
Floyd had a unique and wonderful relationship with each one of his children. He was Ben's best friend, mentor, and all around go-to dad.
They lovingly named him Floydee-Dove when they were young and cherish great memories of family snow mobile trips, pop-warner football, and goofy dad jokes.
Floyd impacted many lives in a marvelous way, he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Floyd's name to the American Legion Post #83, Lincoln, NH.
A celebration of "new" life for Floyd will be held at the Lisbon Bible Church, Lisbon, NH, at 1 PM, Saturday March 12 th .
