South Ryegate, VT Forrest Edward Shangraw, 61, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at his home. He was born in Lock Haven, PA, March 1, 1953, a son of Jack Lewis and Betty Jean (Moore) Shangraw. Forrest has lived in the Groton/South Ryegate, VT area for the past 35 years having moved from Keene, NH. He was a self employed timber harvester and had coached girls softball, cross country and track at the Blue Mt. Union School in Wells River,VT. Forrest was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Betty Shangraw, and a brother, Dennis Shangraw. Surviving family members include three daughters, Heather Larocque of Woodsville, NH, Nicole Larocque of Lyndonville, VT, and Rebecca Shangraw of South Ryegate; a grandson Bentley; and a sister Pamela Shangraw of Kennebunk, ME; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 11 AM at the Blue Mt. Union School, 2420 Route 302, Wells River, VT.
