Ryegate, VT- Gary Sherman Bowley, 62, of the South Bayley Hazen Road, died at the home of his sister on Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Gary was born in Haverhill, NH on April 30, 1953, to Benjamin Sherman and Virginia M. (Darby) Bowley. He graduated from Oxbow High School. For over forty years, Gary was employed as the night custodian for the Wells River Savings Bank. For as many years, he also served in the same capacity for Walter E. Jock Oil, Co. in Wells River, VT. Gary loved to ride the back roads, the so called "roads with no lines." He enjoyed country music, especially listening to Shania Twain. He had an appreciation for horses and dogs. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly when camping or traveling across the country with his sister, Cheryle and her husband, Joe, or on a cruise in the Caribbean. He was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Bowley on April 2, 1996 and his father, Sherman Bowley on November 18, 2009. He is survived by his sister Cheryle Provost and husband Joe of Wells River; two nephews, Jeremy Provost and wife Terri of White River Junction, VT and Corey Provost and fiancé` Sarah Leete of Woodsville, NH; a great niece, Emily Provost; a great nephew, Jordan Provost; an aunt, Judy Morin of Woodsville; and numerous cousins. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Sunday, June 14th at 2 PM in the Wells River Cemetery, Wells River, VT.
