Gayle
Wormer
January 30, 2024
Gayle Linda (Nault) Wormer, 73, MONROE - Gayle died peacefully at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care in Lebanon on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. She was born on April 25, 1950, to Ester (Nault) Lacroix in Barton, VT. Gayle was a nurse for over 50 years, retiring from Caledonia Home Health in 2021. In addition, she worked at Monroe Clinic, Monroe Consolidated School, Monroe Health Officer, Cottage Hospital, Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, and for the late Dr. Muffin Lyons.
She was a loving and dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Gayle was married to Bob for over 50 years and was the cherished mother of Julie (Sean) Higgins and Christen Wormer. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School and went on to complete her nursing degree at the University of Vermont.
In addition to her children and husband, she is survived by her grandchildren Keara, Broden, and Kayden Higgins; sisters-in-law Deborah (Kenneth) Kryzak, Beth West, and Mary (Peter) Richardson; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by grandparents Eva and Perlie Nault, her mother Ester Lacroix, mother and father-in-law Robert and Melissa Wormer, and brother-in-law Bud West.
Gayle enjoyed visiting her daughters, traveling the world, annual family trips to the Outer Banks, attending her grandchildren's events, and having lunch dates and drives with her friends. For many years, she participated in Life Long Learning classes through Saint Anselm's College, where she would travel to the countries they learned about. Her contagious and never-ending love and passion for taking care of others defined her.
As we say "see you later" to Gayle, let us celebrate the beautiful heart that beat within her and the countless lives she enriched through her unwavering love and dedication. May her memory inspire us to embrace the same spirit of selflessness and kindness that defined her remarkable life.
A graveside ceremony and celebration of life will be held later this spring where family and friends are invited to attend, more information to come later.
