Obituary

Woodsville, NH George Milton Loud, Jr, 86, died January 1, 2011 unexpectedly in Woodsville. He was born in Whitman, MA, August 10, 1924, the son of George Milton and Minnie Esther (Kingsley) Loud, Sr. George spent 21 years serving his country in the U.S. Navy and later worked for 18 years for Boston Edison as a boiler room operator. He married the former Charlene Ida White on May 3, 1948 and she predeceased him on October 29, 2008. Following his retirement from Boston Edison, they spent several years in Port Charlotte, FL before he moved to Woodsville in August 2009 in order to live closer to his son Steve. George was a lifetime member of the American Legion and when living in Massachusetts, he participated in many color guard and parade activities. After moving to Woodsville, he transferred his membership to the Ross-Wood American Legion Post #20 and again enjoyed participating in parades and other Legion activities. He is survived by his son Steve Loud and wife Ann of Woodsville and his daughter Diane Mosher and husband Paul of Port Charlotte, FL; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his brother William Loud of Dawsonville, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister Dorothy. In keeping with George s instructions, there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
