George E.
Riker, Jr.
August 8, 2020
Landaff, NH- George E. Riker, Jr., 60, of Butson Road, died on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at his cabin in the woods.
George was born in Camden, NJ on October 7, 1959 to George E. and Betty Lou (Saulpaugh) Riker, Sr. He was employed as a groundwater remediation operator.
George was known by many names: George, Rick, Ricky, and Nutt Nutt. No matter what you called him, he made a loving impact on your life. He was a devoted son, beloved brother, the fun uncle, and a dear friend to many. He was funny, goofy, and always made folks laugh. He affectionately called his siblings funny names: Ron was " Banaldo ," Cindy was " Poopyhead, " and Dee was " Carrot Top ." His nephews were his knuckleheads and he provided them with his love and knowledge of fishing. He lived by the adage, " Catch the big one and remember, don't litter!"
George also loved classical music, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and rock collecting and metal detecting for anything old. He finally attained his dream in 2011 when he moved into his cabin in the big woods known as Camp Nutt Nutt. He was able to live there and enjoy life, full time, for the past two years.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Lou Riker of Tabernacle, NJ; two sisters, DeAnne Carroll and husband Michael of Murrells Inlet, SC and Cynthia McGuigan of Selbyville, DE; a brother, Ronald Riker and wife Denise of Mt. Laurel, NJ; six nieces and nephews; and most importantly by his beloved dog and best friend, Rudy.
He was predeceased by his father, George Riker, Sr.; a niece, Amy Meadows; and his other beloved dog and best friend, Riley.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of NH, 54 Portsmouth Street, Concord, NH 03301.
