Woodsville, NH - George Edward Turner, 85, of Melody Lane, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, NH.

George was born in Stamford, CT, on February 21, 1932, to George T. and Ruth (Hodge) Turner.

He was a US Army veteran, serving from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. George married Blanche Wilson on July 4, 1969. He worked for the University of Connecticut in the Grounds and Maintenance Department. George was a former member of the Hartford, CT Elks Club. George and Blanche moved to Woodsville on May 20, 2007 from Mansfield, CT. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Woodsville. George will be remembered for his kind heart, good sense of humor, generous ways, and he will be dearly missed.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Turner and Allan Turner.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Blanche (Wilson) Turner of Woodsville; a sister, Ethel Turner of East Hartford, CT; along with three nieces, five nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian of Burial will be on Friday, March 10, at 11 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, NH with Father Alan Tremblay as Celebrant.
