Bath, NH Geraldine Lynn Gerrie Wood, 71, died on Monday, February 21, 2011 at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. She was born in Haverhill, NH, February 20, 1940, the daughter of Linwood A. and Elsie L. (Young) Willis. She attended Woodsville High School. Gerrie married Thomas A. Wood on August 21, 1983. She drove school bus for many years for the Haverhill Cooperative School District transporting special needs children. Later she worked for Upper Valley Services in Bradford, VT, working with adult special needs clients. Gerrie loved working with her hands doing crafts, needlework, latchwork, sewing, and alterations. She was a Mopar enthusiast. For many years she raised small breed dogs and she loved to feed and watch the birds in her yard. She also loved her faithful companion, her Yorkshire Terrier, Nikki. She was predeceased by her parents, Linwood A. Willis on January 17, 1990 and Elsie L. (Young) Willis on January 4, 1999; two aunts, Zellene Burt on March 21, 2004 and Isabelle White. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Thomas A. Wood, Sr. of Bath, NH; two sons, Jeffrey McKean and wife Julie and Linwood McKean and wife Pam, both of Florida; a step-daughter, Laurel M. Murphy and husband Bob of Deland, Florida; two step-sons, Thomas A. Wood, Jr. and wife Laurie of Barton, VT and Donald P. Wood and wife Carol Ann of Georgia; several grandchildren; an aunt, Viola M. Grenier of North Haverhill, NH; and several cousins. Calling hours will be on Friday, February 25, from 6 to 8 PM, at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A private graveside service will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Woodsville in the spring.
