Obituary

Warren, NH Gladys Marston, 91, died May 15, 2008, at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth following an extended illness. She was born in Orpington, England, September 1, 1916, a daughter of Alfred Featherstone-Payne and Bessie Cornish, and graduated from the Bromley School For Girls in Orpington. Prior to her marriage she worked in the accounting department for British Rail. Gladys moved to the United States in the winter of 1947, and later worked for Plymouth Stitching as a seamstress retiring n 1979. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plymouth, Order of the Eastern Star Connecticut Valley Mt. Mooselauke Chapter # 42 of Warren, the Warren United Methodist Women, Warren Historical Society, Pythian Sisters Minerva Temple of Warren, the Episcopal Church Women in Plymouth, and the Daughters of the British Empire in Massachusetts. She was married to Theodore E.K. Marston on October 20, 1945 in Orpington, England and he predeceased her on December 24, 1980. Survivors include two daughters Jean Marston-Dockstader of Windham, NH, Pauline Dixon of Pembroke, MA, and a son Neil Marston of Dorchester, NH; two step grandchildren, a niece Jennifer Brudenell of England, one great niece Charlotte Humma of Sudan, one great nephew Benjamin Brudenell of Australia, one great great nephew Dylan Brudenell of Australia, a great great niece Celera Humma of Sudan, and a cousin Stella Bellingham, of England. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be on Tuesday, May 20th at 3 PM in the Warren United Methodist Church, with Rev David Moore and Rev. Susan Ackley officiating. Private burial, at the convenience of the family, will be in Warren Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Warren Wentworth FAST Squad, Warren, NH 03279, the Mt.
