Littleton, NH - Glenda Nelson passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 26th, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Glenda was born on February 29th, 1940, in Littleton, NH to parents Glen and Lorraine (Archibald) Nelson. She grew up in Franconia, NH and was one of the last graduating classes of the Dow Academy. After graduating, she moved to southern NH for some time, returning to the North Country, in Bethlehem, NH after remarrying her husband, eventually settling in Whitefield, NH to be closer to her daughter, Kim and son– in-law, Rick.

After her love, Al passed away in 2014, she moved to the Lane House in Littleton, where she made wonderful friends with many of her neighbors.

Glenda loved her family and the ocean, taking many trips to Maine for her seafood fix. More recently, she cherished her annual trip to Corolla, NC, with her daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Seeing the wild horses was always a highlight of the trip.

She is predeceased by her parents Glen and Lorraine Nelson; a daughter, Tammy; her sister Janice (Stone); and her husband Alvin Shepard, Sr.

She is survived by her sister and her husband, Dot and Reed Bouton; a brother and his wife, Glen "Buck" Nelson, Jr., and Annette; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Rick Panton; son Alvin Shepard, Jr.; 5 beloved grandchildren; Jennifer (Michael) Barrett, Aaron (Cassie) Panton, Kelly (Joel) Feher, Melissa Shepard and Deanna (Harry) Baker; and her 8 great grandchildren, Mia, Elijah, Brody, Ethan, Alexandra, Charlotte, Taila and Leland.

Glenda, Mom, Gram, Gigi will be deeply missed by her family & friends. A private celebration will be held in her favorite place, Corolla, NC in the summer.
