Gracelyn R. Blaise, 83, of Orange, VT, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, VT, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 27, 1941, in Groton, VT, the daughter of Rupert H. and Doris (Keenan) Ricker.
A bright and accomplished student, Gracelyn graduated as valedictorian from Groton High School. Following graduation, she pursued her passion for beauty and attended beauty school. On November 21, 1970, she married Stanley Blaise Sr. at the Topsham Presbyterian Church, a union that brought her much joy.
Gracelyn dedicated many years to serving her community through her work in customer service at various pharmacies in Barre, VT. She retired from Rite Aide, where her friendly demeanor and helpful nature were appreciated by all.
Gracelyn was predeceased by her father, Rupert, on September 5, 1996; her mother, Doris, on February 7, 1991; her husband, Stanley, on February 2, 1990; and her siblings: Harvey Ricker (April 13, 2019), Lawrence Ricker (September 17, 2016), Roderic Ricker (February 22, 2023), Doris Frigon (November 28, 2014), and Priscilla Ricker (November 11, 1997).
She is survived by her sister, Lillian Olsen of East Corinth, VT. Gracelyn will be remembered for her intelligence, her dedication to her work, and her love for her family. She is also survived by her stepson Stauch and wife Delores of Zephyrhills FL, two stepdaughters Bonnie Bell and Diana Bisson of Sydney NB, and several nieces and nephews, as well as grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5-7 PM at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St., Woodsville, NH. A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Groton Village Cemetery, in the new section.
