Haverhill, NH Greta (Cross) Morris, 90, died June 6, 2009, at Cottage Hospital, Woodsville, NH. She was born in Leominster, MA, March 3, 1919, a daughter of Ernest C. and Helen E. (Sykes) Cross. She graduated from Haverhill Academy Class of 1937, and formerly attended the Haverhill Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday School, and the Newbury Bible Church. Greta was previously employed at the former Haverhill Academy in the school lunch program, and for several years worked as a nurses aide at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill. She married Walter B. Morris on December 17, 1939 and he predeceased her on April 20, 2004. She was also predeceased by a brother Frank Cross. Survivors include two daughters Marilyn H. Aldrich and husband Ron of Woodsville, Constance A. Sanville and husband Henry of Pike, NH, a son Russell W. Morris and wife Jeri of State Road, NC, four grandchildren Tracia O Shana, Nichole Hilliard, Tara Inglesby, Christopher Sanville, and twelve great grandchildren, two sisters Evelyn Bigelow of Center Haverhill, and Nancy Hood of Newbury, VT, a sister in law Irene Morris of Haverhill, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be Sunday, June 14, at 2 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, with Pastor Paul Ciampaglia and Pastor George Hemway officiating. Burial will be in Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, NH.
