Obituary

Bradford, VT- Harriett L. Norcross Thurston, 94, died on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at the Oasis Home in Bradford. Harriett was born on March 4, 1916, in Haverhill, NH, to Harry M. and Maude (Bowles) Patridge. She graduated from Haverhill Academy, Class of 1938. In the 1960 s, Harriett served as a postal clerk at the Haverhill Corner Post Office. She was a resident of Haverhill until marrying Charlie Thurston in the late 1960 s, when she moved to Bradford. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. While married to Charlie, the two of them enjoyed many hours of fishing at the camp on Norton Pond. She also loved to knit. She was predeceased by her two husbands, Edward B. Norcross in 1958 and Charles Thurston in 2002 and by two brothers, Harry M. Patridge, Jr. and Francis R. Chink Patridge. She is survived by her children Shirley Clement and husband David of Myrtle Beach, SC, Edward F. Norcross and Barbara of Haverhill, NH, Sandra M. Van Norden and husband Richard of Benton, NH, and Larry G. Norcross and wife Carol of North Haverhill, NH; nine grandchildren, Jim and Kevin Clement of Perkinsville, VT, David Clement of Bend, OR, Beau Norcross of North Haverhill, Kimberly Fisher of Surry, NH, Mark Van Norden of Morrisville, VT, and Harry Norcross, Mary Derosia, and Larry Norcross all of North Haverhill; fourteen great grandchildren, Tansy Kusypa, Mariha and BoCherie Norcross, Gideon, Micah, and Lydia Fisher, Katlynn and Allison Van Norden, Michael and Christopher Norcross, and Haley and Anthony Derosia, Samuel and Olivia Clement; a niece Patty Gadwah; along with her devoted caregivers, Sandy and Pam at the Oasis Home. Calling hours will be on Monday, August 16, from 6-8 PM, at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 17, at 11 AM, in Ladd Street Cemetery, Haverhill, NH.
