Harvey "Bill" William Powers, 91, died, Saturday, September 3, at the St. Johnsbury Health and rehab. He was born in Newbury, VT, the son of Ray and Helen Estelle (Crowe) Powers. He attended Newbury Schools and served in the US Army from 1952-1954 and was a Corp E4. He worked at local farms and in the woods. He married Elanor Call March 9, 1957, and they raised two children. He purchased his own farm on the Leighton Hill Road. He worked in the woods until his retirement and continued to cut and split firewood. He enjoyed keeping a large vegetable garden. He was preceded by his parents, his brothers Harold "Bud" Powers, Charles "Bob" Powers, his sisters Irene Veilleux, Patricia "Pat" Gallant, and Marilyn "Dode" Emerson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elanor (Call) Powers, his two children Gail E. Harris and husband John, West Hartford, CT, Sandra L. Henry and fiancée Stephen Sharf, Wells River, VT, three grandchildren Michael W. Henry and fiancée Tara Mayhew, Williston, VT, Tanya Harris, New Britain, CT, Amber Harris, Bethel, CT, sisters Dorothy "Dot" Longmore, Newbury, VT, Marjorie "Marge" Minshull, Newbury, VT, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2 PM, at the Boltonville Cemetery, Newbury, VT, with Pastor Pamela Smith officiating.
