North Haverhill, NH- Hazel Mae (Welch) Carr died on Wednesday December 29, 2021.
Hazel was born on March 16, 1923, to Freeman Charles and Effie Almira (Green) Welch. She was the eighth child from a family of 17 children. She graduated from Bath High School in 1941. She moved to Connecticut after graduation. While in CT she married Roger Carr on July 19, 1952. They moved back to NH in 1962.
She was very active in the community as a volunteer at the Grafton County Nursing Home, Horse Meadow Senior Center and the VFW. She was also very active in her church, the Methodist Church of North Haverhill, NH.
Her hobbies included gardening, traveling, knitting, reading, plastic canvas and bowling. She went to bone builders 3 times a week. A big part of her life with Roger was enjoying the camp in Pittsburgh where they really enjoyed fishing.
She was predeceased by her husband Roger Carr of North Haverhill, NH; her parents Freeman and Effie Welch of Swiftwater, NH; Clayton Welch of ME; Robert Welch of NH; Marjorie Welch of NH; Henry Welch of OH; Merlyn Welch of GA; Madeline Estes of CT; Donald Welch of NH; Earl Welch of CT; Kenneth Welch of NH; Allen Welch of CT; Carroll Welch of GA; Arthur Welch of CA and Max Welch of CT.
She is survived by a brother Bernie Welch and his wife from East Hampton, CT; sisters Shirley Fadden of North Haverhill, NH and Ruth Boemig of Chesterfield, NH; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
There will be a Memorial Service at the North Haverhill United Methodist Church on Saturday May 14, 2022 at 11AM, with burial to follow at the Bath Village Cemetery.
