North Haverhill, NH Hazel W. Clough, 92, died on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Grafton County Nursing Home. Hazel was born in Wells River, VT, September 23, 1918, the daughter of Leon and Martha (Dwinell) Wilson. She graduated from Wells River High School. Upon her graduation from school, she worked at the telephone office in Woodsville. Hazel married Arthur H. Clough on June 7, 1944. She later worked with her husband Arthur on the family farm in North Haverhill. Hazel then began a 43 year career with the Butson family at People s Market and at Butson s Supermarket, a family run grocery store in Woodsville. She continued to work for Shaw s Supermarket, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the North Haverhill United Methodist Church and a member of the Lioness Club. Hazel enjoyed the Woodsville Sunshine Bowling League and, most importantly, her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Arthur H. Clough on October 20, 2000; and a sister, Maida Millette on March 8, 1991. Survivors include her daughter, Carol C. Page of North Haverhill, NH; two sons, Samuel A. Clough and wife Audrey and Timothy W. Clough and wife Karen both of North Haverhill, NH; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one nephew. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 2 PM at the Horsemeadow Cemetery Annex in North Haverhill, NH.
