North Haverhill, NH – Hazel (Powers) Morey Wheeler, 90, died October 24, 2010, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, following an extended illness. She was born in Lowell, VT, November 28, 1919, a daughter of Bertrand and Viola (Smith) Powers. Hazel was a longtime Woodsville / North Haverhill resident and was formerly employed at Woodsville Industries and the Lisbon Shoe Factory. Hazel was predeceased by her first husband Gerald Morey on June 3, 1980, and her second husband Kenneth Wheeler on August 28, 2010, and brothers Archie Powers and Roger Powers, and a daughter Nancy Hazlett. Survivors include four daughters, Marilyn Kidder of Bennington, VT, Geraldine Paradie of Hudson, NH, Sheila Kidder of Henderson, TN, and Carol Bigelow of Payson, AZ; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Pion of Newport Center, VT, Katie Blodgett Henley of Littleton, NH, Theda Allen of Woodsville, NH; a brother Dale Powers of Woodsville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A calling hour will be on Monday, Nov. 1st, from noon to 1 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH. The funeral service will be at the funeral home at 1 PM with Pastor Sue Ellery of the Woodsville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Center Haverhill Cemetery, Benton Road, North Haverhill, NH.
