North Haverhill, NH Helen K. Bailwitz, 93, died September 22, 2008, at the Grafton County Nursing Home in North Haverhill. She was born in Garfield, NJ, May 22, 1915, a daughter of Steve and Madelyn (Piros) Kiba who were immigrants from Budapest, Hungary via Ellis Island. Her father worked in the coal mines. Helen s early working years started off as a maid and Nanny for a doctor and school teacher. For over 30 years she was a head cook at the New Canaan, CT Country Day School. Helen has resided in Norwalk, CT, Bethel, CT, West Townsend, VT, and Haverhill, NH, and was active at the First Haverhill Congregational Church of Haverhill and with area sewing and quilting groups. She was known for her baked bread and gardens. Later, she moved to Pike, NH prior to entering the Grafton County Home in 2000. Helen was predeceased by two husbands, Louis Tingets and Clayton E. Bailwitz, as well as, her two children Louis J. Tingets on June 14, 1960, and Helen E. Waterbury on August 9, 1997. Predeceased siblings include Ebe, Goldie, Joe, John, Madeline, Steve, and Loue Kiba. Helen s surviving siblings include Mary Gillerlain of Virginia Beach, VA, Loius Kiba of Akron, OH, Irene Albin of Akron, OH and Pekoe Steve Kiba of South Carolina. Other survivors include two grandsons, Lance Waterbury, and Daniel Waterbury of Connecticut; a granddaughter Shawna Lee Waterbury - Kwashnak of Connecticut; two great granddaughters, Sarah and Anna Kwashnak; a great grandson, Thomas Kwashnak all of Connecticut; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at 3 PM at the First Haverhill Congregational Church of Haverhill UCC with Rev.
