Groton, VT- Helen Ann Kincaid, 79, of Powder Spring Road, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care, Lebanon, NH following a period of declining health.
Helen was born in Barre, VT on March 2, 1941. She grew up on Rowell Brook Road, Bradford, VT and graduated from Bradford Academy in 1961. Following high school, Helen served in the US Army. She also worked for a number of years for various manufacturing sites locally including New England Industries, Channel Mills, Woodsville Industries, Bradford Veneer Mill, and Copeland Manufacturing, as well as at the Ace Diner in Lebanon, NH and Ames Department Store in North Haverhill, NH.
For many years, Helen attended and was a member of the Woodsville Grace Assembly of God Church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting model cars, reading, tending her flowers and watching the birds. Helen will be remembered for her love of '57 Chevys and her own red Chevy S-10 pickup truck. She loved taking drives, enjoying the scenery and singing along with her music as she drove. She also loved watching the Red Sox and golf on television. After she was taught how to use a tablet, she enjoyed playing solitaire and word games.
Mostly, Helen will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her laughter, and her sense of humor.
She is survived by her loving daughter and caretaker, Priscilla Thompson and husband Alan of Groton; and three sisters, Patricia Judge Barbuito and Jacqueline Judge Scappaticci both of Connecticut, and Sandy Bonnayer of Massachusetts; a brother, David Judge of Texas; cousins Bruce and Peggy Davis of New Hampshire and Brent and Sue Davis of Vermont along with more cousins and nieces and nephews; two step grandchildren, Caleb and Juli Wells Thompson and their children Maci and Levi of Maine and Hannah Thompson Levett and Araya of Vermont; and her (guard) dog, King.
She was predeceased by her biological father, Irving J. Judge in 1972; adoptive father, Arthur E. Kincaid in 1991; her mother, Katherene Davis Kincaid in 2004; a baby sister in 1942; a baby brother in 1945; and four brothers Donald Kincaid in 1954, Dennis Kincaid in 2004, Rodney Kincaid in 2001, and Russell Kincaid in 2004; as well as the love of her life, Donald S. Fortin in 1961. Last month she lost her beloved cat, Callie, whom she had treasured.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be in Sawyer Cemetery, Bradford, VT on Friday, July 17 th at 11 AM with Pastor Bruce Lee, officiating.
