Bath, NH Helen Pauline (Austin) Lane, 92, and formerly of Bath, died Monday, January 7, 2013, at the Grafton County Nursing Home following a period of declining health. Helen was born in Haverhill, NH, August 23, 1920, a daughter of Forrest and Myrtle (Ingerson) Austin. For several years Helen worked as a cook at the former Bagonzi s Restaurant in Woodsville and later worked at Cottage Hospital as a cook, then in housekeeping, and then in the Central Supply Department, retiring after 19 years. Helen had lived in the same home in Bath for 61 years, with her husband Charlie, before entering the Grafton County Home. She married Charles E. Lane on September 7, 1938 and he predeceased her on February 18, 2007. She was also predeceased by her sister Doris Kennedy on December 1, 2000, and by two brothers William C. Austin in 1987 and Leon F. Austin in 1990. Survivors include two daughters Barbara Walker of Littleton, NH and Joyce Locke of Monroe, NH; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a great great grandson; along with several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. The funeral service will be on Friday, January 11th at 10:30 AM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH with Rev. Thomas Peters of the Bath Congregational Church officiating. Spring burial will be in the Bath Village Cemetery.
