Helen I. Rutherford, 101, North Haverhill, NH graduated to her heavenly home on Friday April 2, 2021 with family at her side. She was born in Weare, NH on July 24, 1919 to Guy and Marian (Gale) Cram. She attended Weare Public Schools and graduating from Weare High School class of 1937 and Concord Business School in 1939.
Helen worked as a secretary at the Farm Bureau in Concord, NH where she met her husband Dick. They married on August 6, 1942 at the family home in Weare while he was home on leave from the Navy. In 1948 they moved to North Haverhill where she lived for the rest of her life. Helen worked at H&R Block in North Haverhill. She taught preschool for several years out of her home. She was active in 4H and the North Haverhill Community Club as well as the United Methodist Church in North Haverhill, where she served as secretary and treasurer on the board of trustees, as a historian, and as a Delegate to Conference. She sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a 50-year member of the Wyoming Grange in Weare. Helen was also active in the Lakeland Florida community as a member of the Esther Circle Women's Group, were she wintered for over 20 years.
Helen is predeceased by her parents and her husband Richard Rutherford (August 17, 1988). She is survived by two sons R. Alan Rutherford and his wife Sandee of Bath, NH, and Robert Rutherford of North Haverhill, one daughter Carol Reed of North Haverhill, 11 grandchildren, Pamela Roberts (Steve), Willington, CT, Michelle Elliott (Mark) Benton, NH, Kimberly Maheu (Roger) Sierra Vista, AZ, Tracey Rutherford, Merrimack, NH, Christopher Rutherford, Merrimack, NH, Matthew Rutherford, Bath, NH, Kevan Stewart, Bath, NH, Holly Smolensky (Matthew), Avada, CO, John Rutherford, Haverhill, NH, Melissa Deppisch, Danville, VT, Scott Rutherford, (Camilla), North Haverhill, NH 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be on Friday April 9, 2021 from 6-7 p.m, at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville, NH
A funeral service will be at the North Haverhill United Methodist Church Saturday April 10, 2021 at 1 p.m. with the Reverend David Palmer officiating. Burial will be at the Center Haverhill Cemetery May 3, 2021 at 10:00 am. The streamed via the North Haverhill United Methodist Church Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/northhaverhillwoodsvilleumc
Face coverings and social distancing will be required for all services.
