Newbury, VT Henriette Maria Burroughs, 83, of Scotch Hollow Road, died on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. She was born in Dortmund, Germany, August 21, 1929, the daughter of Richard Ludwig and Sophie (Mark) Gigler. Henriette was from a circus performing family. Growing up in the circus her family act was known as the 3 Richards. She attended school in Germany. Henriette married David F. Burroughs on April 9, 1952. In July of 1952 she and David moved to United States to start their own life, leaving her family back in Germany. Henriette worked hard and raised six children. She worked for 30 plus years at the Veteran s Administration Hospital in White River as a nurse s aide. Her family was the most important thing her life. Another significant part of her life was belonging to the Bobby Vinton Fan Club. She traveled all over the country watching him perform. She loved to travel around and also play the slots if she was near a casino. Henriette loved to watch and interact with animals. She was predeceased by her husband, David F. Burroughs on July 24, 1998. Survivors include her six children, Amy B. Sargent of Newbury, VT, Reta E. Wain of Haverhill, NH, Wanita L. Webb and husband Paul of Haverhill, NH, Glenda F. Bernier of St. Johnsbury, VT, Kristen Smith and husband Kelvin of White River, VT, and David F. Burroughs II and wife Bernice of Newbury, VT; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister in Greece; a brother in Germany; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In keeping with Henriette's wishes there will be no public services observed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Humane Society of one s choice.
