Hubbel Allen Knapp, 48, of Woodsville, NH, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Born in Woodsville on March 22, 1978, he was the son of Dexter Knapp and Sandra (Holden) Knapp. Hubbel grew up in the area and graduated from Woodsville High School with the Class of 1997.

A familiar and friendly face around town, Hubbel spent years working in groundskeeping and building maintenance, contributing his talents to the Glencliff Home and Crotched Mountain Rehab. Most recently, he welcomed neighbors and friends at the Gather Together Cafe in Woodsville. Hubbel was a true people person who cherished simple conversations and staying connected with those around him.

An outdoor enthusiast, he loved fishing, canoeing, swimming, and camping, and treasured the many trips he took traveling all over the country with his brother. Hubbel was also deeply committed to his local community, frequently offering a helping hand as a member of the Haverhill Fire Department for nearly 30 years as well as the North Haverhill VFW. He was communicant at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Woodsville and loved and valued the connections he made there.

He is survived by his mother, Sandra Knapp of Haverhill, NH; his father, Dexter Knapp of Newbury, VT; his beloved brother and best friend, Jaben Knapp of Haverhill, NH; and his half-brothers, Jeremy Knapp of Ocean Springs, MS, and Corey Knapp of Bradford, VT, along with extended family and many friends.

Calling hours will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, located at 1 Birch Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Pine Street. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Ladd Street Cemetery in Haverhill. Friends and family will be spending the afternoon, starting at 1:30pm at the Haverhill Common sharing food, memories and music, all are welcome to join in the afternoon celebration of life.
