Benton, NH Irene R. Matz, 90, of Coventry Road, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, NH. She was born in Homer City, PA, October 4, 1924, a daughter of Samuel and Anna (Arone) Bruno. For several years she was a switchboard operator for the Chesapeake & Potomac in Washington, DC. She married Edward F. Matz on January 22, 1949. Along with her husband, Mrs. Matz had lived in Benton for many years and was a communicant of St. Joseph s Catholic Church, Woodsville, NH. Survivors include her husband of husband of 66 years Edward F. Matz of Benton; three sons, Scott F. of Benton, Joseph D. and wife Shelley of Barre, VT, and Edward J. and wife Jennifer of Longmeadow, MA; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher, Anthony, Ethan, McKenzie, Ally, and Natalie; two great grandchildren, Sebastian and Christian; a sister, Frances Peggy Partain of South Carolina; a niece, Glenna and two nephews, Charles and Samuel. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, March 31 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15 Pine Street, Woodsville, with Father Alan Tremblay, officiating. Burial will be later in the spring in St. Joseph s Catholic Cemetery, Bath, NH.
