Obituary

Bath, NH – Irma McCoy Aldrich Clough, 101, died on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at the Grafton County Nursing Home, North Haverhill, NH.

She was born in Sugar Hill, NH, February 19, 1918, a daughter of Arthur and Mary (Huntoon) McCoy.

Irma was raised in Bath, NH by her aunt and uncle, Addie and Harry Tewksbury.  She married Elwin L. Clough on June 25, 1948.  Irma cleaned homes around town and was the cook at the Bath Village School for 20 years, cooking many delicious meals over the years.

She joined the Pine Grove Grange at the age of fourteen and over the years supported the  organization by setting up for card parties and participating in   various activities.  This would have been her 87 th year as a member.  In the past, Irma was recognized as the Grange Citizen of the Year and had received her 80 year certificate in 2012.  She was a founding member of the Bath Fire Department Auxiliary and was a member for over 50 plus years.  In May 2017, she was awarded the Boston Post Cane for Bath.

Irma was a member of the Bath Congregational Church and she sang for many weddings and funerals.  She started the Fall Foliage fundraiser at the Church and worked on the suppers.  Irma enjoyed needlework, reading, and word searches.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elwin L. Clough on March 8, 1993; a son, Allen James "Jim" Aldrich on February 5, 2016; a twin brother, Elmer McCoy; two brothers, Irving McCoy and Wayne McCoy; a sister, Marcia Cousineau; and two grandsons, Michael Clough and Lucas Thompson.

Survivors include her two children, Dauna C. Ayotte and husband Kip of Woodstock, NH and Dale E. Clough and wife Deb of Monroe, NH; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There are no calling hours.

A funeral service will be on Friday, June 7, at 11 AM at the Bath Congregational Church with Rev. Lyn Winter, officiating.

Burial will be follow at the Bath Village Cemetery.
