Bath, NH – Isabelle R. Sutherland, 82, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH.

She was born in Norwalk, CT, May 6, 1931, a daughter of Irving and Isabelle (Catto) Raymond. Isabelle graduated from Woodbury High School in Woodbury, CT. She married Alexander Sutherland, Jr. on May 5, 1951. In 1978, they moved to Bath from New Canaan, CT. She was a substitute teacher at the Woodsville Elementary School for many years. She was a member of the Lisbon Bible Church and the Pine Grove Grange in Bath. Isabelle loved attending car races at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT and watching her sons race. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, making crafts, and writing handwritten letters to family and friends. Isabelle's biggest enjoyment was being able to spend time with her family.

She was predeceased by a son, Brett Raymond Sutherland on January 13, 2009; a sister, Doris Webb; and a brother, Allen Raymond.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Alexander "Alex" Sutherland, Jr. of Bath; a son, Alexander "Alex" Sutherland, III and wife Jean of Benton, NH; a granddaughter, Kimberly Chicoine and husband Jared of Haverhill, NH; two great grandchildren, Leila and Mae Chicoine; a daughter-in-law, Theresa D. (Rose) Sutherland of Woodsville, NH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 29 ^th at 11 AM at the Lisbon Bible Churchl, 21 Woolson Road, Lisbon, NH with Pastor Russell Wing officiating.

Burial will be at the Bath Village Cemetery in the spring.
