Portland, ME- Isidro Jose Rodriguez, Jr., 31, formerly of Woodsville, NH, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 22, 2022.
Isidro was born on October 2, 1990, in Manhattan, to Isidro A. Rodriguez and Lowin "Laurie" (Polanco) Rodriguez Camarillo. Locally, he attended the Haverhill Cooperative Middle School where he began forging many special friendships. During his high school years, he was homeschooled while also attending some classes at Woodsville High School. Most recently he had attended the Maine College of Art and Design.
Isidro was known for establishing and directing the Food4Kids program locally and in 2018, Mike Rowe featured him and the program on his Facebook series entitled Returning the Favor.
Isidro was known for his ever present smile and uplifting attitude. Even as a youngster, he was one to "give back" to the community as he assisted at the Beckett School, Life Transition Services, and Head Start. He enjoyed photography and graphic design and operated Urban Nature, taking photographs for high school seniors, friends, and others.
He was predeceased by his father, Isidro Rodriguez.
He is survived by his mother Laurie Camarillo and husband Arturo of Nashua, NH; two sisters, Norelly Vallejo and husband Edwin of Woodsville and Crislaine Rodriguez and partner Angelica Lugo of Springfield, MA; four nieces and nephews, Leon Alcala, Leila Alcala, Noelia Vallejo, and Edwin Vallejo, Jr.; grandmother, Josefina Polanco of Nashua; four step-siblings, Diana Camarillo, Juan Arturo Camarillo, Montse Camarillo, and Cynthia Camarillo all of Aguascaliente, Mexico; step-grandparents, Margarita Montoya and Angel Camarillo Moreno; his special friends, Alyssa Nurse, Reed Maerder, Jeff Maerder, and Astrid Solis; along with his constant canine companion, Apollo.
Calling hours were held on Friday, August 26 th from 5-9 PM at Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch Street, Woodsville.
A funeral was held on Saturday, August 27 th at 11 AM at Ricker Funeral Home, with Melissa Gould serving as Funeral Celebrant.
Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Swiftwater Road, Woodsville.
