Jacqueline "Jacki" C. Smith, 76, Wheelock, VT, died at home with family at her side on Saturday, November 25, 2023.  She was born in St. Johnsbury, VT, on Thursday, May 22, 1947, to Lionel and Irene (Bedor) Lemieux, one of ten children.

Jacki grew up in St. Johnsbury and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the Class of 1965.  She married Wendell Colbeth on June 26, 1965.  Together they had two children.  Wendell died on May 19, 1998.  Jacki married Wayne Smith on May 22, 2000.  She worked for many years driving school buses for Beckley Transportation and later as a driver for Federal Express.

Jacki loved gardening, especially her flower gardens, feeding the hummingbirds, quilting, and traveling.  She, more than anything, enjoyed time with her family.

She is predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Wendell Colbeth Sr.; and a sister Denise Lemieux-Ferrin.  She is survived by her husband, Wayne Smith; two children, Wendell "Rusty" Colbeth Jr. and his wife Marlo, and Margaret "Peggy" Lavigne and her husband Mike; two step-children, Heather Smith Cowen, and Jason Smith and his wife Kelly; five grandchildren, Courtney Ross, Nicole Sturgess, Kayleigh Charland, Abigail Brewer, and Grace Colbeth; five great-grandchildren, Remington Sturgess, Bryce Alexander, Harper Charland, Ella Charland, and Gianna Pena; eight siblings, Mary Jane Kittredge, Theresa Root, Gerald Lemieux, Jeannette Loschke, Michael Lemieux, John Lemieux, Joseph Lemieux, and Rosie Provost; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Services are being planned for the springtime.
