James Edwards
Belyea
September 4, 2022
James Edwards Belyea, 66, of Bath, NH, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Jim was born in Woodsville, NH on September 30, 1955, to Robert and Thelma (Edwards) Belyea.
Jim graduated from Woodsville High School in 1973. He attended Berlin Tech to become a television repairman, but God had other plans. Jim began working for Northeastern Log Homes. He enjoyed building log homes for 25 years. When it was time to hang up his tool belt, he started selling janitorial supplies and equipment for Kenco, Inc. In 2008, Jim began working for Clean-O-Rama (Gorham, Maine). They are a wonderful work family, and a company he was proud to work for. Jim's work ethic was second to none both professionally and personally.
Jim married his middle-school sweetheart, Theresa Paradie, on October 1, 1977. They were blessed with 44 wonderful years as husband and wife. Together, Jim and Theresa built their home and welcomed three children into the world: Jaclyn, Jessica, and Cayman. He loved his family dearly and was a special part of their lives. He was always there for them, no matter the time, place, or occasion. Jim couldn't wait to become a grandfather and was so excited to meet his two grandchildren who are on the way.
Jim loved singing, dancing, and listening to music. Watching him and Theresa out on the dance floor was a joyful experience, and something they cherished doing together. He enjoyed watching sports and would be at all sporting events his children were part of. Jim had a gentle, genuine soul and made people feel special. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Jim was a handyman, and if he didn't know how to do something he would teach himself, or YouTube would. He enjoyed time in the kitchen cooking his signature home fries or baking his mother's famous ginger cookies, which he'd perfected. He loved spending summer days at camp on Groton Pond and taking family camping trips to Old Orchard Beach, Maine; both special places with many memories for him and his family. Family was important to Jim; he would often stop by for impromptu visits and wouldn't miss a family gathering. He was proud to be a Belyea. Jim was patient, loving, and kind; he would do anything for anyone. Jim lived life in the moment, always with love and grace.
Jim was a devoted Christian man and lifelong member of the Woodsville United Methodist Church. As a Lay Leader of the church, he provided many great sermons. He enjoyed helping with the church's Fourth of July chicken barbecue. So much, Jim built a pit of his own at home so he could continue to share this tradition with his family and friends.
Jim was welcomed home to heaven by his father, Robert; mother, Thelma; and brother, "Doc", and we are certain the cribbage games began.
Jim will be deeply missed and forever loved by his wife, Theresa Belyea; two daughters, Jaclyn Belyea; and Jessica Sheetz and husband Tim; a son, Cayman Belyea and wife Lindsay; two grandchildren, expected in October and December of 2022; a sister, Kathy Hatch; two brothers, Peter Belyea and wife Wanda; and David Belyea and wife Juanita; mother-in-law, Connie Chase; sister-in-law's, Jean Belyea; Joyce Connall and husband Desmond; Sandy Quartuccio and husband Phil; Carolyn Beard and husband Brian; and brother-in-law, Richard Paradie and wife Vicki; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 15 th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Ricker's Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be Friday, September 16 th at 10:00am at the Woodsville United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodsville United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Paula House, PO Box 281, Woodsville, NH 03785.
